About

Wavefront Research, Inc. was incorporated in 1993.  Since then, we have been providing our products and services to government, military, and commercial clients.  Located in Northampton, PA, we are nestled in the Lehigh Valley, a rapidly growing hub of technology with convenient proximity to major metropolitan areas like New York City, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Boston and others in our northeastern corridor.  Our research and development center is housed in a 38,000-square foot facility, that also contains optical, mechanical, and electronics labs, a clean room, as well as machining, prototyping, and assembly areas.

Products and Technologies

Hyperspectral & Multispectral

multispec2

WRI’s hyperspectral imaging technology utilizes a high-performance, ultra-compact design form and covers spectral bands ranging from the visible through LWIR spectrums, including full-spectrum sensors that cover both VNIR-SWIR and LWIR regions.

Optical Interconnects

optinter2

WRI’s optical interconnect technologies include board-to-board, board-to-backplane, board-to-fiber, cryogenic and non-cryogenic FEED-THRUs, and a variety of other functionalities that make possible rugged, low cost, and extreme environment systems solutions.

Optical Switches

switch2

WRI’s optical switch technology cluster includes rugged, non-mechanical, radiation-hard low-loss optical switches that are useful for data and in radar beamforming applications.

Material Sensors

matsens2

WRI develops custom optical sensors that detect and/or identify a variety of solids, liquids, and gasses in a broad variety of applications for the military and commercial markets.

Vacuum Maintenance Module

vmmc

Wavefront Research’s VMMC (Vacuum Maintenance Module – Commercial) is a ruggedized, miniaturized, intelligent, small-scale ion pump driver and non-evaporable getter heater controller. The VMMC is ideal for portable system applications with small-sized ion pumps where intelligent control and monitoring of a vacuum containment vessel are desirable. The VMMC can be connected for interactive user communications or can operate as a stand-alone power supply for an ion pump where no user connection other than DC input power is required. The VMMC is ideal for commercial OEM vacuum maintenance applications and operates over a wide range of temperatures and altitudes.
The VMMC includes a TTL serial digital interface to provide users with access to vacuum system information and to set parameters. For VMMC use without a serial connection, a signal output of a variable pulse rate is provided for use as a relative pressure indicator. Users can monitor a variety of parameters, including power consumption, ion pump voltage, ion pump current, estimated pressure, and unit temperature. Users also have the flexibility to set operational limits for voltage and current to the ion pump.
The VMMC unit is available separately or in a bundled option:
Option 1 – standard base unit
Option 2 – fully configured with pumps and assembly

VMMC ACCESSORIES:
VMMC-A-1:  Ion Pump Interface Cable
VMMC-A-2:  NEG Interface Cable
VMMC-A-3:  Test Input Interface Cable for Evaluation of VMMC
VMMC-A-4:  VMM Auxiliary Power Pack (VAPP)
